The Brewers 2010

The brewers stink. The Milwaukee brewers have stunk in the year of 2010  with a record of 77-85. Fourteen games out of the lead for the National League Central Division. That is not what us brewers fans had in mind. Then again we didn't expect the Cincinnati Reds to play the way they did. Well maybe some of us had thought it would be this horrific pitching staff led by Yovani Gallardo.
We need some pitching, good pitching other than Yovani they all stink while our bullpen has been OK but that’s not the problem the problem is getting through the sixth inning with our starter which has been the main cause of a lot of the brewers losses this season that and mental mistakes.  Since we were not able to get through the sixth the bullpen had to work overtime, but they bared down and had a pretty good season. Oh and what a season Manny Parra had a pathetic season where he has gone 3 and 10 with a 5.02 era. The only good things for me that happened this season was Chris Capuanos return after two Tommy John Surgery's and Trevor Hoffman got his 600th save.  What mental toughness those guys have.  Hats off to them.  Trevor Hoffman is a blue collar athlete since he goes to work every day, works hard, and this year he had a chip on his shoulder when he lost his role as the closer early in the season.  He deserved to get to 600.  Chris Capuano convinced me this season that he is a good bullpen pitcher and maybe a number 5 pitcher, but the problem was he never got his chance to be a starter.  He never got his chance since Ken Macha doesn't know how to coach baseball.  The only reason he was good as a coach for the Oakland Athletics was because they already had a dominant pitching staff.  I will bet all brewers fans are happy they fired Ken Macha.  Chris proved to me this season the most he is a fighter.  To get through what he did was a miracle, but it wasn't a miracle since miracles happen with a lot of luck. He  worked hard every day to get back to where he was before he was injured.  He might not ever be where he was but I know for a fact that he is and will keep working his but off to get better.
I think that this year our bats were not that bad, they were just very inconsistent. I believe that we need to trade Prince Fielder now while we have a chance to get something, maybe a good pitcher for him.  Prince will problably go to a team with a lot of money and win a lot of championchips.  The new york yankees will likely snatch him up.
The pitching staff for the brewers in the year of 2010 was almost excruciating pain to watch them.  All i hope for next season is that they improve by taking second place in the division at least and maybe making the playoffs, but thats back on the miracle side of things
